community · environment · culture

Founded in 2020, we are a social enterprise that empowers and employs underserved women through the production of beautiful, handcrafted bags.

Our founder, Lauren McCraney, combines her love of authentic textiles with her passion for supporting women.

The idea to found Woven Women Collective emerged from years of international research and volunteer work with women’s co-ops and abuse shelters for domestic violence and human trafficking.

The Woven Women Collective represents the cultural history of women around the world as the thread that ties a community together. Before women were allowed to read and write, their stories were passed forward through the generational knowledge of woven textiles.

These fabrics carried the community's story and pride from one generation to the next. Today, at risk women need to be supported as they protect their children and weave the health and wellbeing of their communities back together.

For each product purchased, we donate a '“go bag” full of essential items to a women’s shelter.

Cultural preservation and environmental sustainability are integral aspects of our business.

Your purchase creates a positive ripple effect that will empower a sea of women, and for that we are very grateful.
